  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes
  • 1/4 cup red and white sprinkles
  • 1 egg egg

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheet.
  2. Cream butter and powdered sugar until fluffy, then mix in egg and extracts.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt to form dough, then fold in candy canes and sprinkles.
  4. Shape dough into cookies and place on baking sheet, spacing apart.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden, then cool.
