Dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg egg
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extracts; mix well.
  3. Mix in dry ingredients until dough forms. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick and cut snowflakes.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool completely.
  5. Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing. Decorate cooled cookies with icing and sprinkles.
