Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 pound pizza dough
Filling
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate or chocolate chips
Other
  • as needed oil Oil for frying
  • as needed confectioners' sugar Confectioners' sugar for dusting

Method
 

  1. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into 4x6 inch rectangles.
  2. Mix ricotta, powdered sugar, vanilla, and egg; place filling on half of each rectangle, add chocolate, then fold and seal edges.
  3. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry pastries until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Drain on paper towels and dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.

Notes

Ensure oil is at proper temperature before frying to prevent sogginess.
