Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 medium very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars, then add egg, mashed bananas, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  3. Add flour and baking powder; mix just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 60-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool for 20-30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the pecans before adding.
