Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup festive sprinkles (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream butter, sugars, and vanilla until smooth. Beat in eggs.
  3. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles.
  4. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Cool cookies on racks before serving.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let cool on the baking sheet.
