Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup holiday-themed sprinkles (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Mix dry ingredients; set aside. Cream butter and sugars, then add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Combine wet and dry, fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles if using.
  4. Drop dough onto baking sheet, bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  5. Cool cookies on sheet briefly, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let sit for a few minutes before transferring.
