  • 2 cups rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)

Method
 

  1. Rinse rice until water runs clear.
  2. Combine rice, water, salt, and oil in a pot and bring to boil.
  3. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
  4. Add vegetables in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  5. Remove from heat, let sit covered for 5 minutes, then fluff and serve.
