Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy; add egg, vanilla, and eggnog.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients; fold in nuts if using.
  5. Drop dough onto baking sheet; bake 12-14 mins. Cool and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
