Fluffy and Irresistible Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons dried yeast
  • 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1 large egg
Filling
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing on dough)
Glaze
  • Double cream, for a rich finishing glaze to taste

Method
 

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
  2. Add melted butter and stir.
  3. Pour in warm milk and mix.
  4. Add egg and stir until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead, oil, cover, and let rise for 2 hours.
  6. Knead dough on a floured surface.
  7. Roll into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle.
  8. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Brush with butter, sprinkle filling.
  10. Roll into a log and slice into rolls.
  11. Arrange rolls in a baking dish.
  12. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20 minutes.
  13. Pour double cream over each roll.
  14. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon-sugar filling.
