Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cream butter, sugars until smooth.
  2. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients separately, then combine.
  3. Stir in oats and chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool before serving.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and cool on sheets.
