Ingredients
  

Meat
  • 2 pieces filet mignon steaks (6-8 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • optional Fresh rosemary or thyme

Method
 

  1. Let steaks come to room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat grill to high heat (450°F-500°F).
  3. Pat steaks dry, rub with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and add garlic and herbs if desired.
  4. Grill steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  5. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness.
