Bread
  • 4 cups cubed day-old bread
  • 2 cups pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix pumpkin, cream, milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, spices, and salt until smooth.
  3. Add bread to mixture, soak for 15 minutes, then fold in pecans.
  4. Pour into a greased baking dish, drizzle with butter and maple syrup.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and set. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream for extra indulgence.
