Ingredients
  

Egg Whites and Stabilizer
  • 3 large egg whites at room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Sugar and Flavorings
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • a pinch salt
Finishing Touches
  • to taste powdered sugar for dusting
  • optional blue and white edible glitter

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 225°F (110°C) and line baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  3. Add sugar gradually and beat until stiff, glossy peaks form.
  4. Fold in vanilla, almond extract, cornstarch, and salt.
  5. Pipe snowflake shapes onto sheets and bake for 1.5-2 hours until dry.
  6. Cool, dust with powdered sugar, and add edible glitter before serving.

Notes

Ensure egg whites are at room temperature for best volume.
