Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional) optional
  • 1/4 cup fruit preserves or jam raspberry, apricot, or your choice

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then mix in vanilla, almond extract, and salt.
  3. Gradually add flour and form a soft dough.
  4. Shape dough into 1-inch balls, place on sheet, and indent centers.
  5. Fill indentations with preserves and bake 12-15 minutes until golden. Cool and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Ensure not to overfill the centers for even baking.
